Originally released in 1996, this nice mellow acid jam was recently re-released in 2022 on Rob Acid's album Acid Chronicles.
Released by Richard D James aka Aphex Twin on his label Rephlex records in 2009. Richard never does tracks in a straight genre and this track is no exception, but its clear that he knows how to get an expressive performance out of a TB-303.
Released in 1993 on label Harthouse records.
This mind blowing resource is an incredible way for exploring not just the history of Acid techno, but all forms of electronic music. It features a whole family tree of electronic music genres going back to the 1900s. When you zoom in and click on a tile along any branch of the family tree you get a playlist of samples from compositions released that year in that sub-genre.
Released by Chris Liberator aka Star Power in 1997 on Stay Up Forever Records.
Fat free oh frees, fat rigs, fast drugs, fuck you
I put this together about a year ago. I just wanted to meet artists and make a digital mixtape. It was a wonderful experience. I was in the middle of making a new acid comp when the reddit blackouts happened. A lot of artists left the site and kind of shelved the project for now. Last years was a wonderful album though https://communitymodularelectronic.bandcamp.com/album/acid-exploration-2-a-compilation-cme-025
Released by 808 State in 1988 on UK label Creed Records
Uneven Surface's Dog Inc., released in 1998, showcases how expressive a simple 7-step TB-303 polyrhythmic bassline can be with a little tweaking.
A straight up Acid tune released in 2009 on UK label Routemaster Records.
Mark Gage's 1994 album Themes From Vapourspace is an incredible one hour mix of original music that is well worth a listen. Headphones are a must with this one.
From their 1992 World2World EP. One of my favorites back in the day.
Anyone fancy some brains?
Long build-up, featuring an epic dystopian spoken word piece by Jello Biafra in the breakdown. Love this one!
