Ah that makes sense, I hadn’t considered that https would mess this up. I actually already use libredirect on Firefox on my desktop, I was just hoping to set up a network wide redirect. Thanks for the help!
Has anyone tried to use unbound (or even a hosts file) to redirect requests to youtube to an invidious instance? It seems pretty trivial in my head but I cannot find any reference to it online

Honestly I love it, it’s pretty short as I’m only 5 hours in but about halfway through. I’m not a Warhammer fan but it’s still good. It has sliders to adjust colour pallets and pixelation so you can adjust the retro feel.
EDIT: It’s definitely worth the current sale price. And the other commenter is right that the levels can be a bit confusing at times so it could definitely do with a map.

Libredirect does a similar thing on Firefox desktop. I use it to redirect all Reddit links to my locally hosted libreddit and YouTube redirects to random invidious instances so that it’s different every time.

As far as I’m aware this was possible before the api changes. I’m not sure it’s possible anymore

I just picked this up in the sale and this is a genuinely fun game. I’m not even a Warhammer fan but this is very reminiscent of Doom with both the graphics and enemy types. It’s a pretty short game, I’m about 5 hours in and just over halfway through.

I get this too, I can only view the first image in the gallery. There’s no way to swipe between images or expand the previews

To be honest I don’t see the issue with multiple similar communities. It’s no different to how Reddit would have many subreddits with similar themes. For example on Reddit there were dozens of Star Wars subs so people would subscribe to them all

If you're on iOS you could check out memmy, it is heavily inspired by Apollo and has just been published on the App Store

You can block communities which will stop them showing up on the all/local pages. Go to the community page, tap the three dots at the top and press block :)

I’m not a fan of this button but I do like the hide opened post option

I use Kubuntu for the kde plasma desktop. It made the switch from windows much easier. I dual boot and occasionally use windows if I want to play a game which doesn’t have Linux support

I found a code on LowEndBox which gives me 2GB RAM on a Linux vps for $2. I would be included to agree with you for their normal pricing though
I've been browsing LowEndBox and found a good deal with vpshostingservice.co. The problem is that I've never heard of them before so I'm wondering if the deal is too good to be true.

Thats super helpful thanks!

That's really helpful thanks. My main reason for considering switching is for availability when outside of my home. I know I could port-foward but I am concerned about the security risks of that. I might buy one for just a month or two to see how it might help

I hadn't really considered hardware problems although I suppose that's a rather negligible cost. I probably only have to replace my own hard drives every 3 years or so. I appreciate the insight!

Apologies, I meant rent a VPS. When I mentioned self hosting I meant hosting it myself on my own hardware and my own network
A recent post here about 4th July sales has made me consider buying a VPS but the cost still seems a little steep. What are the main advantages of using a VPS?

Hey I tried to join the discord using the link above, but discord said it was invalid/had expired. Any new links?

I’ve always wanted to but it seems dauntingly expensive and tricky to do. Any tips?

I would recommend they try memmy if on iOS. I’ve tried liftoff and Mlem too but memmy is my favourite so far.

I’m really enjoying the app and I greatly appreciate your clear explanation and transparency regarding the push notifications.
