@kionite231 @ExtremeDullard I have tried everything to ask my favorite creators to start posting on peertube but its impossible to find the content I am looking for on peertube :(
I hope someday peertube would take off
Can anyone recommend an easy way to install [#invidious](https://fosstodon.org/tags/invidious) on [#unraid](https://fosstodon.org/tags/unraid) using docker? [@selfhosted](https://lemmy.world/c/selfhosted)
Backup truecharts apps on TrueNAS scale. Could someone please tell me if there is a way to backup Truecharts apps that I have installed on TrueNAS Scale? Need assistance with Rocket chat. I have my rocket chat running in my internal network using cloudflare tunnels. I have a VPS configured as coturn. When I set my coturn info in Rocket chat, I still don't see an audio or video call option. Using call just starts a Jitsi call instead of using my coturn server for audio/video call in direct messages. Can someone assist and let me know what I am doing wrong? Thank you. Selfhosted coturn server Rocket chat Configuration. I spun up a coturn VPS server and configured the turn server in rocket chat WEBRTC configuration. However, when I try a call button to have a private audio call, it still starts up jitsi instead of doing a direct call using my turn server. Can someone tell me the right configuration to make it work like a regular voice or video chat/call? Thanks. @maegul Thanks for the heads up. I cross posted from mastodon and still trying to figure out how this all works. Appreciate the input.
[@OpenSource@mastodon.social](https://mastodon.social/@OpenSource) [@opensource@lemmy.ml](https://lemmy.ml/c/opensource) I was just curious. If a project is started as opensource and we have bunch of community members contribute to the project, either to the code or financially. What happens to the community contributions when that project decides that it is no longer going to be opensource? Are there no license restrictions against this practice as the contributors were led to believe that they are contributing to an opensource project. Can they close source community contributions?

@Dirk thanks. That's how I did it but I am not sure if updating using docker compose would overwrite it. Portainer is running on a VM so I will make sure to snapshot it and try so I can restore it if needed.

@Catsrules Thanks. This specific to Immich. The upload location in the docker-compose is picked from .env file. I, for the life of me, cannot figure out how to mount the portainer SMB volume in the .env file. What I ended up doing was to select the containers using the upload location and edit the volume to attach the SMB share volume from portainer. I hope what I said makes sense. I am just a newbie learning docker right now.

@fedonr Vaultwarden also has 2FA option. You can use that if it fits in their workflow.

@hungover_pilot Way more than I would like but the way I see it, it's cheaper than drinking and I learn in the process so I take it as a cost of entertainment :)

@nenos @LineageOS @degoogle The bootloader is locked but the phones are unlocked international phones, so not locked to a carrier. I am a newbie trying to learn so not sure how to unlock the bootloader.
[@LineageOS](https://fosstodon.org/@LineageOS) [@degoogle](https://lemmy.ml/c/degoogle) [#degoogle](https://fosstodon.org/tags/degoogle) I have two phones that I need to degoogle. A Samsung Note 5 and Huawei P30 pro. Lineage OS does not support either of them. Can someone recommend instructions on how I can achieve this. Basically degoogle, desamsung and dehuawei the two phones. I would prefer Lineage OS but since it is not officially supported for these phones, I will settle for getting it done in stock ROM as well.

I use both Seafile and Nextcloud. I use nextcloud for exactly your use case. File sharing, contact Sync and Calendar Sync. I backup my nextcloud files to seafile. It works perfectly for my use case.

@XTornado What are you Synching with? In my case, I self host my Joplin server and on my local network, it took around a minute to Sync a few thousand notes on my Android phone.

@JustEnoughDucks I started with this setup. Proxmox on my laptop with an external 1 TB USB 3 drive added to proxmox as storage. It would work great for getting started and learning. I/O via USB 3 could be an issue so make sure you don't use this setup for intensive Read/Write operations. But use it as a lab setup and it would work great.
PS: Once I moved to bigger servers, I still use my laptop proxmox for testing services before I roll them out to my production servers.

@coolie15 Thing I like about LibreTube is that I can point it to my own hosted Invidious instance. This way I am also in control of the backend

@fomo_erotic I generally look at the suggested content below the video I am watching and it generally works in exposing me to new content. I use LibreTube but I am not sure if the same is available for other FOSS apps.

@fomo_erotic It's a great journey. Can you elaborate what you mean by the issue of discovery?
In my journey to [#degoogle](https://fosstodon.org/tags/degoogle) myself, today after many years, I have deactivated my YouTube premium account. Was a challenge to setup LibreTube for the wife and kids and to bring over all their subscriptions, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. My biggest challenge right now is to find a solution with [#tutanota](https://fosstodon.org/tags/tutanota) to sync my Android contacts and calender so I can close down my Gmail account. @rockhandle That's how I started. Proxmox on a 9 year old laptop with LXC and VMs. Even now that laptop runs proxmox with pfsense and pihole VMs and is serving as my home router :)

@QuadRadical @OpenSource @foss I use an Android phone made by a Chinese company via Kickstarter called Unihertz Tank. The phone has a 22k mAh battery that works perfectly for my lifestyle. I doubt I can find a degoogled OS for this phone :(
I have disabled all google services & use Fdroid for apps. I would love to use an OS that is privacy oriented like LineageOS or GrapheneOS. I would love to try Linux on the phone provided it is stable as most of my work is dependent on me being available.
[@OpenSource](https://mastodon.social/@OpenSource) [@foss](https://beehaw.org/c/foss) It would be great if we had a LineageOS/GrapheneOS image that would be similar to Linux distros where they could be installed on any Android phone and it would auto download/install all the drivers needed for the phone to be fully functional. I really hope there is some work being done on this in the background. [@OpenSource](https://mastodon.social/@OpenSource) [@selfhosted](https://lemmy.world/c/selfhosted) Is there a way to move all my data off Facebook and import it into my [#friendica](https://fosstodon.org/tags/friendica) instance? That would include my posts, pictures, videos etc?
[@OpenSource@mastodon.social](https://mastodon.social/@OpenSource) [#opensource](https://fosstodon.org/tags/opensource) [@opensource@lemmy.ml](https://lemmy.ml/c/opensource) Maybe it is not much but I make sure I donate $2 every month to every opensource application I use because without FOSS community, our lives will be held hostage to the corporate billionaires. To the FOSS Community, Thank you!!
