At this point, 6 figure jobs seem to be a pipe dream regardless of the color of your collar.

Obviously, it is still attainable, but from my personal view, it seems like salaries don't keep up with inflation and it's a race to the bottom

Sorry ima offload a thought and then get into the good stuff so skip the first two paragraphs if you want to just see the positives.

Today is one of those "if I finish my work efficiently and properly, why do I get more work? I don't benefit from doing it faster." days.

I've been doing this job for almost 6 years now. I'm not sure if I have ADHD, or if I'm just bored or what, but it's incredibly hard to focus.

All that being said, I'm doing well! Got a 4 day week this week, so that's always cool, and I've eaten a bunch of yummy food this week. The other day I got this sesame chicken rice bowl from a local food court, and I'm still thinking about it. It's living in my head rent free lol

I also tried Takoyaki for the first time, and it's such an interesting food. Nothing like what I expected. Very gooey, warm center with a tiny bit of octopus. I thought it would taste more fishy, but there was only the slightest hint of "sea" in it. It was mostly savory and smokey flavored. Delicious! I've been thinking about ramen now as it gets cooler, and I definitely want that at some point.

I've been streaming horror and horror adjacent games this month, and things are starting to pick up a bit more. Since the last time I posted, I grew from 100 subscribers to 220+(!?) So that's exciting. I'm looking forward to checking out the Dead Rising Remaster soon. I love that game a lot. Such a charming and quirky game.

Theres this cool spot I like to go walking with tons of squirrels, and they are starting to get chunky as the weather gets cool. It's always funny to see, so I'm hoping to catch their progress this weekend. I hope everyone else's week is going well!

I want to try it so badly! I loved that they leaned into the Japanese themes and imagery, too. I think I'll definitely have to make some time to play it.

I want to also play persona 3 for the first time, but it's like 100 hours or so, and I look at that number and think, "That'll take me 6 months to finish." Haha maybe I'll hermit myself inside the house this winter and smash it out in half that time

People listed Mirrors Edge, and I would like to also recommend it. It might take some time to adjust to the controls but it's fun! I replay it a lot. I've lost count but I've been replaying it since release.

Titanfall 2 was a fun campaign. Also cool movement mechanics.

One game that I think got average ish scores but I enjoyed was Pneuma: Breath of Life. Idk why but I thought the puzzles were kinda fun and it was pretty enough.

    The Stanley Parable

    Catherine

(Kinda visual novel ish) AI Somnium files was fun.

At one point, I actually wanted to have kids, but now, as time has progressed, I don't at all. Financial issues and time commitment are both major issues.

I've realized I start to get a bit of a visceral response when I see stuff like this. It seems like such a slap in the face.

She, and many of her subjects, see a country hobbled by relentless individualism: people turning inward, pursuing their own happiness and success instead of investing in others. “Maybe what ails us is not our freedom per se, but something we mistake for freedom—being detached from family obligations, which are actually the demands that save us from egoism and despair,” she writes.

Stuff like this gets me. I've been helping myself and my parents stay afloat lol. But naww it's people being selfish right?

No, but for real, that is terrible. Poor people finally get out of their prison country only to be used as cannon fodder. Wars are so stupid.

A good chunk of the 3DS library. So many titles I haven't gotten around to yet.

I need to eventually finish monster hunter iceborne and then play Rise! I have a feeling I'll probably end up just jumping to wilds though. It'll probably be hard to go back to older titles when that game releases.

The Yakuza series! I have only finished zero, 1 & 2. They release them faster than I'm getting to them lol.

I think this is actually kinda cool. But I wish they had custom "Nintendo sounds" made specifically for the clock rather than game noises.

I feel like this would be a sure-fire way to make me feel negative emotions when hearing various game sounds.

Thank you for the additional information that's super thoughtful of you!

For some time, I did have a bottle of Zantac that was left in an area that did get sunlight. It's hard to say what kind of risk I'll have to be honest. I don't even know how someone would tell if there was a negative consequence from it, but like you said, the odds are still probably within my favor. I mean, as long as I don't get some kind of cancer before, I'm 80 or 90. I'll be happy, haha. I figure there's no point in worrying over something that might never be, but once in a blue moon, I get that tinge of worry.

I'll have to look into seeing if there's any class action I can participate in. I'm in Canada, so I'm assuming my milage may vary. It's been a year or more now, too. I'm not sure if they've already finished with those lawsuits by now, but I suppose it can't hurt to check!

Anyways, thank you again. I really do appreciate you taking the time to send me all that information. That was super kind of you!

Yeah, I could have, but it would have taken longer than 5 minutes of work, and I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough to take all the factors into account. I was posting this while taking a quick break etc.

I was just trying to add some hope to an otherwise gloomy topic.

But you're right, I'm sure with some effort I could probably have at least a ballpark idea.

I saw a post the other day here that was saying something along the lines of "because china's car market is swapping to EV's we might be at the tipping point for climate change either in 2024 or 2025"

Which if true would be really nice. I have no idea of the validity of that claim, but i just wanted to add it. Maybe we aren't so screwed? Fingers crossed I guess :3

I miss my online friends. They're still around, it's just hard to keep in contact in a way that works for us.

One now has two young kids(!) And the others are all busy with jobs and stuff. Our schedules just don't line up anymore(plus timezone issues! I'm online when they're alseep)

It felt like when we couldn't game together anymore, everyone just kinda found it hard to keep in touch. I feel guilty about not trying to reach out more. But idk. It's weird I guess

I used to take zantac daily from age 13 to 18 and then maybe once a month or so until 28.

I recently did a screening for colon cancer (it was surprisingly easy. They just ask you to scrape a super small sample of poop into a test tube) and it came back clear. But damn. Not looking forward to what kind of digestive tract cancer I might get in the future.

That being said, who the heck knows. My grandmother was a heavy smoker from age 12 and she lived to 80 something so maybe I'll get lucky lol
