That's a shame, it did actually cause drivers/teams to do things differently to get it.

  • New Study Looks At The Potential Carcinogenicity Of 3D Printing
  • Nighed Nighed 6d ago 100%

There was that video from a few months ago from... Prints with layers I think? That looked at the actual particulate and volatile counts and found that PLA actually gave off very little? Other plastics were much worse.

So remember that the particle counts matter as much as the danger of the particles.

(Disclaimer, that was a video, not a peer reviewed scientific paper)

  • The ‘world’s largest’ vacuum to suck climate pollution out of the air just opened. Here’s how it works
  • Nighed Nighed 1w ago 100%

It's a small project. Hopefully they make money, then they can build a larger project, all while learning about the processes and engineering involved.

Then later if (when ☹️) we need to scale it we might be able to much easier.

Discarding projects like this is like dismissing solar energy 20 years ago because what impact does that small solar project have?

  • How is the calories meter on exercise bikes accurate
  • Nighed Nighed 1w ago 100%

It be would be much better if they just showed the number of Wats you are working at, and the total joules of work done at the end of the session. This is probably configurable on most exercise bikes, but calories are much friendlier for the average user.

Lots of the oil exploration ships are custom built for the job. This one is old, but I would guess that there may be some design information regarding it's survey capability that was marked as protected when it was purchased, even if it's not really relevant anymore

Have they fixed their performance issues? They did a engine update just before Helldivers release that trashed the performance. (Awful timing)

Helldivers is now fulfilling my coop shooter needs, never really liked the base building elements of ST:E

  • New York seeks 14,000 hotel rooms for immigrants as bill to house them hits $2.3bn
  • Nighed Nighed 1w ago 100%

Saying that minimum housing requirements don't apply to them is a slippery slope though!

And you know this wouldn't stay temporary, once it's allowed it would be normalised.

From the article it sounded like it just needed more SpaceX development time to polish it up and come up with software that NASA was happy with.

Office buildings are not built for housing, it's often very expensive to convert them.

(More plumbing requirements, legal requirements for natural light etc)
