48, far too young. May his remaining years be good to him and his family
Proving there is no real news on the weekend with STV and the BBC leading with 'normal October weather' story. Aberdeen travel to Celtic today, who will remain on their winning record?

On the whole, aye, bad coming down the road today though. Did a very windy coastal walk around John o Groats which was a highlight. And some star gazing about midnight last night

Been in Caithness all week, travelled back the day. Beer festival tomorrow. That's a good week aff. Got some Moray Cup delivered to Edinburgh, a fantastic investment!
Fucking finally. Been going on far too long this one. May Utah dispense speedy justice, he doesn't deserve long
And he just opened (or is opening?) a second. Strike him off now, seeze his assets before he can fail to pay any more bills
He said there was 'no genocide' in Gaza and has now been expelled. The SNP line has now been set. Interestingly https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide lists a legal definition which broadly equates to an attempt to destroy a group. It is very hard to argue that Israel is not attempting to destroy the Gaza strip and it's peoples. And impossible within the SNP now

A natural fit for marketing purposes. German driver in a german team, and one with some experience that is worth another shot - what's not to like?
Just needa Seb for team principle next

Looks ready for actual use now, rather than tinkering with. Package management was my biggest gripe (URLs are literally what it used before). I would like to see TS as the first class citizen however, with JS being deprecated essentially.
That's 20 in a row for the Red Roses. The All Blacks managed "just" 18 in 2015/16

A good obituary of the man from an obvious friend
Never any news on a Sunday, so here's some pictures of the former FM. Lots of obituaries published today also for reading. But look how young he was in 1990 to be leading the SNP. A party at the time with just 4 MPs

My goodness. I'm shocked. His contribution to public service and independence cannot be understated. His last ten years clouded by his unwanted actions sadly, but the fact he even got Scotland to a referendum will be his biggest legacy. I'll always remember his resignation speech words though
...but for Scotland the dream shall never die

Guid tae hear aboot the gym, plenty ae tech dinnae bother, and they shuid! (me tae)
And every new role feels mad for that first 6 months. Ride it out, then ask: what do I need to improve on? It'll be easier by week 4 usually. Management also taks a couple oh years to appreciate but my top tip is under no circumstances give up that coding. 1 ticket per sprint if on 1 team. 1 review per team otherwise.

Hullo, sorry its late! What are we sharing this week?
No plastic packaging recycling still. No shifting on nuclear. Increasing rail fares. The environment is obviously not not their priority. The SNP about to have a very hard time passing the budget too. Is this a zombie government? What are Holyrood passing that is worth anyone's time?
> If approved, it would have enough capacity to generate energy for around 40% of current homes in the city. Not often we hear of solar farms in Scotland! A welcome addition though

What a brilliant event. We'd all be a little happier with some tree hugging in our life I suspect. I've never done it, but I'm off Friday!
This is definitely how ents are made too. We'll never get ents if we can't find Tom Bombadil first

Can they both lose?
A great move for Glasgow here. I was just saying how bad pro teams in Scotland were at getting out there. Well here's an opportunity! URC champions are going to pump yet-to-find-a-win Edinburgh though
A wealth of news today, but this one worth most to me. Our children and grandchildren are going to ask us: why didn't we stop?
Does anyone know which are accepting invitations? envs.net is but has a massive backlog Any others?
The single UK power market means that peoples of the highlands and islands pay the most for their electricity despite it being generated on their doorstep. It is no wonder we have nimbys. These proposals were originally Tory, and follow American proposals with nodal rather the zonal models that the article suggests. Nodal pricing is insane with Texas having at least annual power problems, that we would likely replicate. Zonal pricing follows a more european model and this isn't as insane as 5 minute settlements across thousands of nodes. Hourly settling across a few zones, with capacity pricing and such. It's a half way house and a sensible reform for the industry imo Anyway. I'll bet you Miliband doesn't reform energy wholesale pricing. That would likely mean higher prices for the SE in the short term. And in the longer term power plants where they are needed, can't be spoiling that!
What a brilliant Monday morning story. Hope yous have a great day, wherever you are

There's the TCP sliding window to solve this. Just needs done, along with a whole host of other work. I'd donate, but are the original pair any better at sharing work yet?

ECC are by no means the only incompetent council, in fact most are: a lack of public engagement combined with cash starvation and Holyrood essentially rendering them little more than stewards of their limited realm, means that most if not all are incompetent in Scotland. I would almost wholly rip them up in an independent Scotland and empower community councils instead, and devolve Holyrood's powers further.
I'm not sure why you wish to defend ECC so hard but the evidence is undeniable here. Yes, they manage plenty of other things despite their funding challenges, and mostly well. But they have clearly failed to manage this community owned asset and as such I label them incompetent.

Yes. It's not re-opened. It's been closed for ages. It got partly burnt down the other week. Yes, it is obvious that they are incompetent

A bit of local news rather than Scotland wide, but it highlights just how inept Edinburgh City Council is. Labour/Tory/LD run btw despite SNP having most seats. Anyway, I miss the farm, an easy afternoon out with the kids here and a valuable addition to Gorgie.
Didn't know about this tour. Irish depth is pretty legendary in the URC, so the resilt is not a surprise to me!
