I hope lemmy doesn't add karma, but even if it did it would be up to the instances' admins to add it or not. That's what make the fediverse stand out, the fact that the community decides instead of someone outside of it

The fact that people are actually real and not bots reposting the same thing over and over again, I didn't realize that until I joined Lemmy
