Seriously. I spent 2 days in the hospital last week with bilateral pulmonary embolisms after having COVID the middle of last month. I was NOT otherwise at risk for clots. A terrible surprise that I'll no doubt be recovering from for some time. I'm on a blood thinner for 6 months.

Yeah. Feel this is a slippery slope. First it's supposedly luxury extras like heated seats and remote starts. Next something more critical when folks are habituated to the practice? Enpoopification all around.

I was there. Mid-70's southern Florida. The most batshit crazy fundies making my life an utter misery for around 4 years. Surely they don't still exist.

Heard someone say something similar about folks that display a Confederate flag. It's a fine marker to identify those that are both mean and stupid.

Yeah. I totally get it. It does take effort to preserve any wonder and stave off cynicism. Especially in these days of ever growing inequality and tougher material conditions for folks in general. When I was growing up there sure seemed more cause for optimism. Now, folks who look squarely at reality find it tough to muster, what with stagnated wages, an erosion of personal ties, a generally lousy work/life balance for most.
Still, I try to look to and look after my friends, my community. It's not much, but it's what I can do. I've seen hardship, illness, betrayal, personal devaluation, loss. But I'd rather not become a bitter, old bastard like so many I see in this region.

I'd like to see it more active. Long-term maintainer here. 115 lb loss. Kept off with little variation for over two decades. Life events impacted my equilibrium over the last 2 years and I've laid on ~15 lbs I can't afford to carry for health reasons. It is coming off, just slower than I'd like. Welcome support and happy to share experiences.

Seems to me that weight maintenance is inherently difficult. Given that such a small percentage manage to preserve a major weight loss. It's something that requires daily mindfulness that is difficult to maintain in the stresses of life in this era.

AT&T are trash. Took us far too long to dump them. Glad we did. Found much better service at a quarter the cost.

Hi, I see there are no posts here so I'll ask some questions and maybe it will prompt further discussion. I'm an old-school broadcaster that would like to use my skills in the podcast medium. I have some ideas for what I believe are solid foundations for podcasts and have the audio production fairly squared, but I want to know what options exist today for hosting on the frugal and diy side. And strategies for multi-platform release, and eventual audience financial support. I see lots of folks putting out their shows across YouTube, etc as well as an RSS feed. Often using Patreon in lieu of sponsorship. Hoping some experienced folks can throw out some options and what has worked for them. I'd like to not get encumbered in some host that will be difficult to leave later if their terms or service change -as this seems to be a growing problem with all internet media. Thanks!
