My analysis is that Republicans want immigrants to be marginalized so they are more able to take advantage of them for labor. If someone was a legal immigrant or had protections, it's harder to pay them low wages, have no medical or workers comp, hire and fire at will, avoid payroll taxes, and unsafe working conditions... all of which are very dear things to Republicans.

It seems to me like the sun going down an hour earlier is the last thing we need when winter comes.

It never made sense to me but also DST confuses me a lot in general.

It also makes dealing with dates even more complicated in programming, especially when you have to check whether an event/person is in somewhere like Arizona that doesn't do DST (besides the Navajo Nation...)

The rationale I heard in the northern U.S. was that kids would have to wait for or walk home from the school bus in the dark. It doesn’t really make sense, but that’s not an issue apparently.

I don’t get why she’d be called that anyway.

Class and race are the issues. Rich, white Immigrants? Sure, that’s them. They’re fine with more. Poor or non-white? No way.

Sounds like probably he wants to say later “Joe Biden didn’t even visit”. Not sure why Biden would go to North Carolina to help with rescues. No idea that he was going to do that personally.

If you read the screenshots, not the braindead text, that’s absolutely not what it says. Try again I guess.

Only anti-Biden propaganda. I sure would feel weird if I was on a website from Luxembourg constantly criticizing politicians in the Netherlands or something.

This interpretation makes no sense. They’re evacuating people from Israel, but not Lebanon. It has nothing to do with the ethnicity of the citizen specifically. It’s not as if a Lebanese American in Israel would be denied, which is what the stupid Twitter post and this post claim.

So the US hasn’t gone to war with Europe or Russia. Amazing insight

Well, this is posted by someone who seems to spend their entire lives jerking off about spreading negative shit about Biden, so makes sense

All of this does a decent job of confirming the group as angsty sophomoric teenagers.

Whole sub is satirical criticism so I don't know why this post was so well received. As usual, though, Poe's Law and all that - somewhere there is some deranged conservative saying the same thing but seriously. Probably on TwitX or FB.

i would love more parties and more choices. If we could get something besides FPTP voting that would be great.

You are still missing who votes. You seem to think you vote, but it is really the state that votes.
Uh... no, that's my point. If electors are selected by a popular vote, that's the vote. Very rare for electors to switch candidates.
This states thing is a questionable proxy system. We are sort of, theoretically, a republic of states. Sure. However, it's a flawed system that isn't quite relevant to how the country has developed. It's silly to act like a system invented 250 years ago will always be the best or most effective. The founders of the country didn't expect for the systems to never change. They also didn't expect a party duopoly and hoped to avoid the current situation.
Anyway, it's clearly not purely a 'states vote' situation since it votes are weighed by population. A pure one state, one vote situation would be like that. Texas Republicans recently had a brilliant idea like that where each county would have one vote, which is obviously absurdly anti-democratic - imagine 4 million people in Houston having the same vote as 72 people in some tiny county.
I keep hearing about layoffs, studios being closed and how the industry is troubled. Are companies losing money and sales are poor, or is it the same as Google and other companies laying off people just to pump their stock price and make money despite profitability?
I guess I could research but I thought I'd ask. I had a silver GC back in 2002-2004 and around 2009, my dork-ass brother mailed my GameCube to a friend across the country because he wanted to play an online game with him. Obviously I'm never getting it back, but I still have all the games and it would be cool to play them.
