according to the texas secretary of state, texas has about 18 million registered voters. so 1 million people is about 5-6% of all registered voters in the state, which is insane.

i mean this as a genuine question: why do you think it’s important that people have access to guns? i never really got the appeal, but also haven’t talked to many people who do think guns are important, so it would be nice to hear a different perspective on this

what’s so frustrating is that this “they’re a fact of life” mentality is a self-fulfilling prophecy. and the longer it continues to used as a justification for inaction, the harder it becomes to convince people that gun violence is a solvable problem.

i don’t know what your experience has been, but 911 has fixed every restaurant order that i’ve called them about

they’re gotten so accustomed to rejecting evidence that they’re now doing it preemptively. saying no to a second debate means there will be less evidence that they’ll have to reject later

or they do belief it, but they’re very worried he will lose the next one. either way, definitely not a good look
