The Courage to be Disliked.
It’s a look at Adlerian psychology through the format of a conversation. I’ve looked deeper into Adler and don’t agree with some but the book changed the way I think about a lot of things.

I actually own nothing with USB-C charge. The only reason I have a cable is because my microphone came with one.

DS I reckon. It was just MK64 but slightly more refined.

TV and movies is a lot of word of mouth for me. If I hear about something that might be interesting I’ll look more into it.
I watch anime and a lot of the suggestions come from forums or online word of mouth.
Videos from YouTube and Nebula play into suggestions as well.
For music it’s pretty wild. Because I’m open to a lot of things I’ll take any source. I read a few blogs, visit a few forums, watch videos, work from ratings lists or even pick it up from being used in things. Discovered a new band this morning based on looking at upcoming gigs in my area for example.

70-120 years old? Wouldn’t some of this be public domain now?

I’ve fallen victim to this a few times. Fox didn’t have the rights to the recent Ashes series so they just played replays of old series. Walking past it was easy to be deceived if the venue hadn’t switched over to 7.
It was only when I came back and the score didn’t make sense that I picked up on it.

iOS on an ageing iPhone 8.
Very curious about making the switch to something like Graphene.

If I’m retaining knowledge I’ll go early 60s in Japan. Have fun and get rich in the miracle economy and protect myself from the bubble bursting in the early 90s. Then I’m loaded and living in a great place.

It’s the same in rugby league. They just get on with it.

Brave removes ads.
But also… it’s Brave which I’m learning is not the most ethical choice.

I got a machine to set up as a media server and it had Windows preloaded. I’m a Windows user primarily and after an hour I got the shits and installed Mint. Command line installing is so much simpler.

I meant the big dumb utes are dangerous.

They’re pretty dangerous if you’re walking or riding around near them. I’d like to see some sort of action from government to get rid of them.
I’m not fond of the birds either but they can stay.

No need to apologise for those writing skills. You write extremely well.

That’s oddly specific.
I would think for it to work properly there would need to be some sort of trust rating. I’ve used other (admittedly not federated) aggregator marketplaces and never had an issue. Not saying issues don’t happen, but they’re not guaranteed. You’d still get your standard PayPal or credit card protections if you used them.

It’s not anime but one of the seasons of the Japanese reality show Terrace House used The New Romantics by Taylor Swift which was a bonus track for 1989 Deluxe.
It didn’t make it to the global release of the show due to licensing.

Samurai Champloo. Listen to the Departure soundtrack and then go down the rabbit hole of Nujabes’ work.
After a lengthy wait from preorder Anri’s Heaven Beach has finally rereleased on vinyl. Timely and Bikini were also released and maybe Coool as well from memory. I got this through Tower Records. I always thought it was strange that an album called Heaven Beach has a cover of Anri chilling with a bag of groceries on it. I wonder what she bought.
A real shame this album isn’t on Spotify because it’s so good.
From the F-1 GRAND PRIX WORLD album which presumable was used for Fuji TV's coverage of the Formula 1. You may recognise this from Macross 82-99 and Sarah Bonito's Horsey.
I once heard this played in a burger joint in Brisbane.
For me, it was Mariya smiling at me from the thumbnail with the title “Plastic Love” back in 2017. I’m probably not alone with this story but I’d love to read your stories of your intro to city pop.
There’s quite a few versions of this song. I prefer both EPOs and Juice=Juice’s but this has grown on me over time.
Another newer song though it’s written to sound older. It’s from the movie Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop which is pretty good.
Reiko Takahashi is so good. I wish she did more.
Timely!! is one of the greatest albums of the genre. Here’s Shyness Boy. Anyone catch Anri’s gig in America? I am unfortunately in the wrong hemisphere. The Anri re-issues on vinyl should be out very soon too if they’re not already.
Somehow Stay With Me is one of the most well-known city pop songs yet Miki Matsubara is still so underrated.
The song that started it all for me. A shame the original YouTube video went down. Luckily there’s a proper music video done recently. It feels so out of place on the Variety album compared to the rest, but I guess that’s the point of Variety!
