Those are some of the first below-grade expressways built in the country, so the shorter on ramps are from an era with fewer and slower cars, and there isn't space to lengthen them. The law only changed to stop the insurance companies from using zip codes to determine rates, and reduced the maximum payout for healthcare related costs from a crash, with the aim of lowering costs, but of course the insurance companies worked around it.

Insurance is required in all of Michigan, with fines, license suspension, and jail all possible for not having it. With Michigan's no-fault insurance we have some of the highest rates in the country in Detroit—especially relative to income—and almost no viable alternative to owning a car.
That said, as a native Detroiter I feel safer in Detroit driving around other Detroiters, the suburbanites and out of state folks are always in the way.

I didn't know wasps did either until I bought a plant for my garden that is primarily pollinated by wasps. They were as chill as any other pollinator, not at all what I expected.

Anyone who lets their dog bark outside for 10+ continuous minutes (except in case of emergency) loses dog privileges for a year. One year added for every five minutes over 10.
ShotSpotter installs can be repurposed to locate homes of negligent owners who are annoying the entire neighborhood by letting their dogs bark unmitigated.

And mostly scripted ads at that? I never really watch them either, but they don't feel like the spontaneous conversations they appear to be, just scripted ads and rehearsed bits

Thanks for the tip, here's another attempt uploading as you suggested:
This was the first spider like this I've noticed in my garden, but it was while I was picking berries in July. I'll watch the blooms next year. From your other comment I did see a crab spider in my parents garden earlier in the spring, the legs do look similar *Edited with more into

I had a similar white spider between the leaves in my raspberries eating a fly, but it was somehow holding the leaves together, preventing me from getting a better look without disturbing it's meal. Seems like I can't add an image to the comment tho

How do y'all decide the balance between dead heading for more blooms or letting flowers go to seed for the benefit of local birds? I have one of the few flower gardens on my block and the only native garden, so pretty much all of my flowers produce beneficial seeds and I want to support the birds, but it would also be nice to get more blooms.

I'm in southeast Michigan, hardiness zone 6b, and I'd like to add a small or mid size evergreen to my yard for some winter interest, any suggestions? I also have a large yew I'd like to replace with something comparable to maintain a little porch privacy, I'm thinking either a smoke bush or witch hazel, any others I should consider?
