Hopefully some info here will be interesting:

Looking at EU, money-exchangers are often the first scam you see. There had to be laws for banks in place to limit on how much they could charge. Euro fixed it up big time.

There are still a lot of non bank owned bankomats, that basically steal your money if you want cash. (Euronet is an example like that)

Even if you can objectively see the name as just a name, many people sadly can't. It is really difficult to recommend others to join, just because they come with the idea that it's a minecraft clone and since it's not a clone it feels janky.

I'm glad they dropped the name for something new.

I don't get the FUD post. The thing is open-source. If security audit is required, why not just do it?

The OP is a new user with no other posts, except this in many places

Is the situation somehow explained there? Since I don't remember the cartoon or movies ever trying to explain this. I guess the only explanation I've heard is that it's for children so some plot holes like that are encouraged.

That's extremely surprising. At least here in Lithuania we were taught about it in schools. Also during folk festivals like "Mėnuo Juodaragis" or "Kilkim Žaibu" there are tradesmen, they often have accesories for sale including the sun symbol.

    Where are you from?

It's a symbol, often used by the baltic cultures, often symbolizing sun, god, or perkūnas (a god similiar to zeus). And boy was it popular.

Many traditional clothes, chests, doors, furniture are often decorated with svastikas.

It's a neat little symbol and fuck the nazis trying to monopolize it.

I guess you're right. My comment wasn't very nice. Although I really miss living in a village. City life is easier on the environment, but fuck is it lonely.

I envy you. I lived in 3 commie block apartments that the soviets built. Even though build from concrete, you could always hear neighbours from all sides except below.

Neighbours above had two children that would chase one another. Sounded like elephants from above.

Surprisingly moving away from the city into a brick apartment actually solved most of the sound problems. The building is even older, was built in between occupations around 1920.

Although there are still problems due to moded cars and bikes driving around. Need to move out again, further...

It's easy to call it out like that, but I that apartments have design flaw, that it dehumanizes your neighbours.

Something along road rage. You are stuck in a container and interaction with others are limited to annoyance.

Maybe coop apartments would have a way to solve it, but it will break down if multiple suites are built next to each other. You can know/befriend a very limited amount of people.

It's impossible to not hear your neighbours in an apartment. There are ways to reduce that, but almost no apartment is built like that. Not to mention that often you want to open windows for fresh air and get to breathe in smoke from cigarettes. It's a different kind of hell to live in one. I agree that it looks nicer from outside. There can even be parks nearby. But never venture there after dark, because you'll get your vallet stolen. Due to that every street must be light up during the night, and now you can't see the stars...

    Anyhow. People fucking suck

How would you recommend learning Guix?

Hey all. Can anyone recommend me a path or some resouces how I could more learn about Guix? I know packaging is a large part of Guix, yet the information on how to package, or contribute in providing packages seems little difficult to find. Thank you.

Do you follow the punk ethos?

Punk political ideologies are mostly concerned with individual freedom and anti-establishment views. Common punk viewpoints include individual liberty, anti-authoritarianism, a DIY ethic, non-conformity, anti-corporatism, anti-government, direct action, and not "selling out". I wonder if the ideology is still alive and kicking, or it's all about the conformity of a subgroup itself?
