This is one of my favourite albums. It's a bit of an odd one out in Novembre's discography: it's generally a bit softer, it features mostly clean vocals, and it generally sounds quite upbeat. The standout track for me is _Jules_: it balances a melodic tenderness with an outro that makes you want to headbang and cry out with joy all at the same time. The whole album gives me a distinctly summery vibe: lazy days, the feeling of life stretching out ahead of you... all the possibilities it brings. This album will always hold a special place for me.

This is probably my favourite Shape of Despair album, although there's stiff competition from Angels of Distress. There isn't a track out of place on this album, and the song "The Distant Dream of Life" always gives me chills. I love that they included a re-recorded version of "Written in My Scars" at the end too.
