Trump Scraps Town Hall Q+A, Plays Music for Crowd Instead | The former president said, "Let's just listen to music," and abruptly stopped answering questions [for 30 minutes]

To give Bush his credit, he said that "won't be fooled again" line because he realized he was about to say "shame on me," and that would have been used against him for the rest of his presidency.

It actually showed real on the spot adaptability.

I've already put more thought into this than I'm comfortable with.

We all know Trump won't accept the results. He didn't in 2020, and in 2016 he claimed it was still rigged against him even when he won.

It's really weird when you think about it.

I donated $100 and will probably donate more.

I feel like this is our last attempt at a do over of 2016. I was swindled by Russian propaganda and bought into the "protest by voting third party," and while my vote didn't change anything (New Yorker), a lot of others were also duped in swing states and counties.

"It is hypocritical to claim to be concerned about the massive death toll of innocent civilians, and then turn around and welcome the person responsible for these war crimes to our Capitol," Tlaib said.

Couldn't have worded it better myself. Netanyahu slaughters 40,000 people, 2/3 of them women and children, and he gets to stand in front of some of the most powerful people in the world and celebrate?

If you're looking for battery backup, I've been eyeing generac for a while. I can't attest to their quality as I've yet to pull the trigger though.

They seem to work well with solar for offsetting usage at night.

  • Next school year, my son will be left home after school for a few hours while my wife and I are at work. I'm looking for a way to detect when he's home and have the front door unlock (among other automation scripts that are in place). [I came across this post](https://community.home-assistant.io/t/child-with-no-phone-presence-detection/25360) and was going to get the Tile Pro as it seemed to check off all my requirements: - I could put it in his backpack where it can be forgotten. - long battery life. - Through the Home Assistant integration, it can trigger when it gets in range. - It also has a few other beneficial things, so I was thinking of putting one on each of our bicycles in case they're ever stolen. Hell, I could look into putting one on my cat's collar in case she ever gets out. Then I came across some [concerning articles regarding data harvesting](https://www.theverge.com/2021/12/9/22820381/tile-life360-location-tracking-data-privacy). The whole reason I started self-hosting was to prevent data harvesting, so it seems like the Tile is a non-starter for me. Has anyone been in this (or a similar) situation? Mainly, I'm looking for a device I can put in my son's backpack that can trigger when he's within range, so the house will open for him. BLE seems like it might be a solution, though I run my server on an old Dell r720 enterprise server in my basement, so I don't currently have Bluetooth functionality (and it's pretty far away from the front door, 20+ feet), though getting that is not a dealbreaker for me. * Addendum: To people saying just get a key: we have a key for him. I have a monolith sized server in my basement that automates most everything in my house these days, and was curious if anyone had set up something similar to what I was thinking. Home automation is very much a hobby, and I'm using it to learn new things.
