Yeah, sci-fi stuff was definitely boundary-pushing for a movie. Unfortunately our modern attention deficient brains are not compatible with lots of older movies. It makes me really appreciate classics that stood the test of time. Movies like 12 Angry Men or anything by Hitchcock or Kurosawa keep you at the edge of a seat even today.

They’re definitely pro-Ukraine and pro-Palestine due to basic human decency, just more nuanced and less concerned with appearance because they report from Hispanic / Latino perspective and naturally they’re a bit more detached due to distance.

Fwiw, you'll also notice that one of the union representatives at the end hints that they want government subsidies of some sort.
That would be incompatible with EU common market although with the weight of France I guess rule bending is not out of question. This sounds like a viscous cycle though, trying to outspend China which has fiscal and monetary policy built entirely on stimulating domestic growth, at the cost of crazy capital controls.

Ah, right you are. I’m not sure EU common market can be reworked so that it doesn’t happen, at least without central fiscal policy and budget. Tariffs are still needed regardless unless we want to become dependent on our global adversary rather than Slovakia.

With Apple’s glacial but consistent speed of fixing those annoyances recently I hope we’ll see this implemented in the next 5 to 20 years. Fingers crossed!

Thank you. Please note that if I am to find some money today or in the future I will report it so that it can be taxed properly. I’m a firm believer of giving back to the society so that we have schools, hospitals and roads.

It’s quite boring. I’ve watched it once or twice and get how iconic and culturally significant it is though.

This is confusing. We’re imposing tariffs because China subsidises their EV production in order to kill competition elsewhere and bring even more manufacturing there.

I was in the same boat, frustrated with Sony stranding entire generations of games on aging hardware. Sold all of my boxed stuff sans exclusives that run on my PS4 Pro. Bought XSX and digital copies of everything I sold for a fraction of price in a third world store. This might be my last console if gaming industry continues on current path so no regrets even if Microsoft quits gaming tomorrow. It’s a nice life boat to carry those titles due to various improvements applied when played in backwards compatibility. XSX is the best platform to play Final Fantasy XIII these days which is quite bonkers when you think about it.
I might consider PC in the future if someone sells a reasonably priced prebuilt with an OS dedicated to gaming, be it from Microsoft or Valve & co. I actually have an old Steam Machine from ASU’s because I thought it would happen much earlier (it lives to this day as my home server). Right now Steam Deck ain’t it and any portable device will be too compromised performance-wise, not to mention entirely unpocketable compared to old handhelds.

Uhh, maybe you should get those facts straight?
Other nuclear powers - US, UK, France and China are signatories too.

I get what you mean but I used this piece specifically because western media started to downplay Zalensky’s threat of developing nuclear arms as misunderstanding. Putin seem to think it is credible. And I hope it is.

Oh, this looks nice, will definitely check it out.

If the west wants to prevent nuclear proliferation they have to defend a county that gave up nukes willingly for the promise of defense. Shortsightedness of the western powers will lead to more countries learning from Ukraine’s mistake and hurt us worse than whining of a despot could ever do. It’s not like that big alliance doesn’t have nukes either.

It’s not isolated to Gen X. Wealth is largely transferred as early inheritance, always has been, therefore it’s just rich keeping getting richer. The only thing that changed after we got rid of monarchy was that social status was determined by wealth and not by birth. Given that the wealth of upper class was not redistributed - nothing could really change. There was a brief moment in time after WWII where high taxation of the rich changed things but it was quickly resolved in 70/80s when we went back to tried and true exploitation of the masses.
This is your reminder to join your local socialists, whoever they might be.

I don’t know, I pay for YouTube so I don’t have to deal with ads. Ad supported YouTube is a subpar experience that costs your time and data, similar to how your usage is an infrastructure cost to YouTube which ad revenue is supposed to cover and then bring some profit because they’re not a charity.

You already ate that hotdog. You’re asking for more free hotdogs. At this point I have to wonder if you’re trying to fool me or yourself.
