The Haitian people are once again facing imperialist interference in their fate. The island in the Caribbean is experiencing growing violence and systematic violations, control over territories by armed groups, repression, and subjection of the people’s interests to transnational capital. Living conditions in urban and rural areas are becoming dramatically worse. The access to food and the circulation of peasant production has been deeply affected. This is precisely why they are at the center of the [popular peasant feminist resistance](https://capiremov.org/en/experience/haiti-rebirth/). Amid this situation, the UN, which has been historically responsible for military interventions that have led to increasingly profound social and political problems, is once again working in line with US imperialism. On the video below, [Islanda Micherline](https://capiremov.org/en/multimedia/video-en/coup-and-grassroosts-struggle-in-haiti/), of La Via Campesina Haiti, denounces the role of countries in the Global North that, through the UN Core Group for Haiti, have been operating the new attempt to intervene in the country. Grassroots organizations and movements demand the 2021 Montana Accord, which expresses the unity of the Haitian people toward a peaceful political transition guided by people’s sovereignty. In rural and urban areas, Islanda argues, Haitian women propose economic strategies for this transition, in the sense of building agroecology, solidarity economy, and food sovereignty, goals that can only be achieved through the peoples’ self-determination and a people’s government. From across the Americas, women continue to stand in [internationalist, anti-imperialist solidarity](https://capiremov.org/en/analysis/thepathof-the-people-from-the-americas-towards-socialism/) for a dignified, sovereign Haiti free from occupation. **_Islanda Micherline_** addresses the challenges facing Haitian peasant women and their strategies for self-determination and people’s sovereignty in the video below: > [Women From Haiti Facing New Imperialist Interference](https://capiremov.org/en/multimedia/video-en/women-from-haiti-facing-new-imperialist-interference/)

You can also substitute the effects of nukes without any of their repercussions, even if you're forced to because you don't have nukes & any allies with nuke wouldn't meet that level of escalation, with precision weaponry aimed at important targets instead of wide effect nukes on bases although obviously the latter's always going to be more bang...

  • panned_cakes panned_cakes 6mo ago 100%

The whole basis of NATO's alarm here is actually hurt feelings, look at what 'hybrid activity' consists of? We literally played "made you look" with a terror alert that expired weeks before the Ukraine-linked Crocus Hall attack, then tried to act like the alert hadn't expired and they were ignoring it. They're complaining that "Russians" (which as Twitter Leaks show can have a wide-ranging definition including Susan Sarandon!) hurt their feelings online.

I just reassure myself that the "slippery slope to armageddon" is chiefly an American policy debate tactic that takes our counterproductive ideas about national security at face value to justify the actual escalations which could lead to armageddon, the ruling class of AUKUS EU SKorea and Japan can't actually handle having their assets damaged, and the strategic vulnerabilities of the empire we've constructed are now public knowledge

Did you know that even without nuclear weapons, it's possible to reach parity with a nuclear weapon? You need a horde of cheap drones and only a few basic munitions landed with precision, rather than nuking an entire base, for a similar effect. "Israel" has so many pointed at it that even if they go "rogue" (ridiculous IMO, they follow US orders with plausible deniability) it wouldn't require a full nuclear exchange envisioned to lead to a chain reaction & armageddon.

By F.M. Shakil – Apr 24, 2024 **Israel is mitigating its labor shortage by importing Hindu-only Indians after revoking work permits for Palestinians – an old colonial practice that could impact its deepening geopolitical ties with New Delhi.** On 10 April, in the thick of the war on Gaza, the [Israeli government](https://www.outlookindia.com/national/6000-workers-from-india-to-be-brought-to-israel-by-may-on-subsidised-charter-flights), facing a labor crisis, announced that it would fly in 6,000 Indian laborers during April and May on state-subsidized shuttle flights. This decision follows Israel’s [suspension](https://thecradle.co/articles-id/11640) of work permits for Palestinian construction workers, a move that has significantly impacted its building sector. Israel’s Finance Ministry estimates that the absence of Palestinian laborers is costing the economy about [three billion shekels](https://www.timesofisrael.com/finance-ministry-says-ban-on-palestinian-workers-could-cost-economy-billions/) ($828 million) monthly, which could lead to a loss of three percent of GDP as the building and housing markets struggle with debt amounting to 400 billion shekels ($106 billion). Simultaneously, New Delhi, overlooking the genocide and humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, has [agreed](https://www.theweek.in/news/india/2024/04/04/first-batch-of-indian-construction-workers-fly-to-israel-under-g2g-agreement.html) to send Indian construction workers to replace the displaced Palestinian workforce. This decision aligns with a bilateral agreement to integrate 100,000 Indian laborers into Israel’s construction industry, matching the number of ousted Palestinian workers. **A colonial strategy** Canadian immigration attorney Aidan Simardone, speaking to The Cradle, compares the situation to historical colonial practices in North America where marginalized European religious groups, like the Puritans, were brought in to service colonial interests. Israel, he points out, is adopting a similar strategy by recruiting economically disadvantaged Hindu Indians from regions like Uttar Pradesh, aiming to manage demographic and political challenges seamlessly. _The move is also an attempt by Israel to pull the rug out from under one of the thorns on the side of colonialism. Colonialism requires squeezing blood out of a stone, yet this squeezing depends on the sweat and tears of those who are at the bottom of the barrel._ Simardone notes the inherent risks for the colonizer in relying entirely on an indigenous labor force, as workers will rebel when colonialism reveals its true nature. _To steer clear of this predicament, colonizers bring in labor from other parts. These laborers are often pushed to the sidelines as well, but unlike the Indigenous population, they go with the flow rather than swimming against the tide when it comes to the colonial project._ **The plight of Palestinian laborers** Since Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza began over six months ago, the closure of the occupied territories has severed the economic lifeline of approximately [100,000 Palestinian workers](https://www.aljazeera.com/podcasts/2024/2/12/the-take-is-israel-replacing-palestinian-workers-with-indians), cutting off their main source of income and depriving them of a financial safety net. Worse yet, many Palestinian workers did not receive their September salaries as the war commenced before their scheduled pay date. The fact that so many Palestinians are unable to support themselves in Israel may have disastrous effects on the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) economic agenda and, inadvertently, worsen the occupied West Bank’s security situation. From looking at their posts they were able to get enough performance to start caching popular tweets, that doesn't sound that expensive to me. Might get into hosting that soon but putting this out there in the hopes someone else does, I'm happy with my secluded option. Still, having you all using something being routed thru people who poison results with Israel tweets for teh lulz seems like bad for everyone no?
