The solution will be for have developers to fully support Linux. I'd date to say they the majority of people still using windows are doing so because they're gamers. While Linux has done what it can to support gaming, it's now up to the game Devs to build games that run on Linux

I'm the same. I primarily use NetBSD but I also still run Void and Alpine Linux. I'd like to go 100% BSD but I also still enjoy a non-mainstream Linux distro

I actually just set fn acme{ /bin/tacme -b -c 1 $* }
in my profile which also works.
So I'm kind of using 9front for the first time and I really like it. It's really quite a simple operating system. There has certainly been a learning curve coming from Linux and BSD, but I'm getting there. Just need to set up Mail, Faces and an IRC client next. So far I've just edited the theme, set up a couple functions, customised my riostart, edited the winwatch source code to reduce the padding etc. Everything I've done is pretty much in the acme window. I've connected to the 9p VPS through rcpu which I find much better than using draw term. Although I suppose I'll need to use draw term to complete challenge two, set up faces for neinbook. I'm hoping to learn how to edit the main right click menu so I can add launch commands for acme and netsurf. I also would like to edit the new window command to enable -scroll in all new windows. Any tips are welcome and appreciated.

I love the look of haiku, I'll probably use it if it ever reaches a stable release.
I'm just curious if it would be possible to port [rbw](https://pkgsrc.se/security/rbw) to 9front?

Very nice. How did you customise the colours in winwatch?
If you've got a git repo with your 9front code is love to have a geez
Also, where can I find 9weather?

What concerns me is how much information is available to all instance admins.
this comment in particular made me think.

I'm almost willing to bet that big tech companies are already doing this. They got the motive and the means. No doubt Meta or Google have dedicated some of their servers to mining our Lemmy data in this way.

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention Odysee yet

I'm on GrapheneOS in my P7 and I suppose if I was ever unable to unlock my bootloader then I'd switch to a platform that supports Linux.
Ultimately, I hope that one-day we can flash a Linux mobile OS on our pixels.

I cannot stress this enough...

Title. Basically, I've had an account on lemmy.ml for a while and now I've moved to lemmy.sdf.org and I can't seem to see my previous posts from my lemmy.ml account.
G'day ladies, gentlemen, and all gender non-conforming or non-binary individuals of the Fediverse. Consider this an **#introduction** of sorts. I am an ex-Redditor but I'm not new to Lemmy, SDF or the Fediverse. I watched on Mastodon as hordes of people migrated from the imploding bird site and it was wonderful to see. Now watching Reddit push their users towards Lemmy, I'm excited for the future of the internet. A much needed web revolution is upon us. If you haven't yet, check out mastodon.sdf.org, matrix.sdf.org and pixelfed.sdf.org for more SDF federated goodness. Tell Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and all other social media giants to get stuffed. Cheers
