Proof by fucking obviousness

The idea that something not practical is also not important is very sad to me. I think the least practical thing that humans do is by far the most important: trying to figure out what the fuck all this really means. We do it through art, religion, science, and.... you guessed it, pure math. and I should include philosophy, I guess.

I sure wouldn't want to live in a world without those! Except maybe religion.

I truly hate that phones don't readily have file browsers and folders, and when you do add them, they aren't effective. Mostly that would be useful when moving files between phone and computer. It's not simple even to get the computer to mount the phone's drive, probably because everyone is fine with having all their files "in the cloud."

I've never heard "as the crow flies" used that way. It is always used to talk about distance, not direction.

All the great song writers were mediocre singers. I'm talkin': John Prine, Steve Goodman, Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Neil Young, even Willie Nelson I would put in this category.

A weird exception is Joni Mitchell. IMHO one of the best singers of all time, and an a-list writer too.

When everyone tries to leave at once it's just about the worst driving scenario possible.

That gives me a notion. Maybe it's possible to get team owners on board supporting public transit, by pointing out that the reason people don't stay for the whole game is to avoid traffic.

  • When I subscribe to someone's youtube channel through Newpipe, does their subscriber count on youtube go up? Or is subscribing just telling Newpipe to bookmark that content for me, but doesn't tell youtube anything? The reason I ask is because the subscriber count on youtube could be an underestimate that way.

My instance has downvoting enabled, but I've learned that some other instances do not. Do the vote totals look different to users on different instances? It seems like some users on instances that don't allow downvoting are unaware that it's not the same lemmy-wide. It would be pretty confusing for them to see their vote go down.
