I still blame Nader for splitting the Democratic ticket in the 2000 election, causing America to be handed over to George W Bush.

Because money. Texas is a big oil producing state and guess what is a major contributor to climate change? The theory is if you don't teach kids the correlation they will think oil is good.

HOA (rent) fees are always too high. Also, mobile homes are the first to go in any natural disaster.

I had to read the whole article to get to this info: Depending on what Chrome version you're using, and whether you've been selected to start using Topics API, you can switch this functionality off and on by visiting chrome://settings/adPrivacy and/or chrome://settings/privacySandbox – cut'n'paste these URLs into your address bar to jump straight to the controls.

Ameriban? Talican? Trumpican? Trumpiban? So many possibilities. Magacan't is what I personally hope for.
Not only do you get to spend half a million dollars on buying it, you'll have to figure out how and where to move a ridiculously large house. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/35-Stonehouse-Dr-Princeton-NJ-08540/39013680_zpid/

With the tree, I was thinking along the lines of termites and/or other bugs.

What a rigamarole! I didn't even think that far into it! It just looked like a bad idea, and you gave a good explanation why. I'm also pretty sure having a full-sized dead tree in the house isn't the best idea either. I bet this house looked good on paper...

Sadly, this house got torn down. https://www.oldhousedreams.com/2013/02/26/1962-contemporary-croton-on-hudson-ny/ Per the comments near the end, "As with many unique houses it cost too much to keep up and my elderly parents let it fall into disarray. We could not fix it up when my mother died in 2012"

Taking your valuables with you into a swimming pool is always a risk. The Romans should have paid better heed, judging from the quantity of gemstones recovered from the drain of one of their bathhouses. As many as 30 semi-precious stones have been discovered by archaeologists almost 2,000 years after their owners lost them at a site in modern-day Carlisle, just behind Hadrian’s Wall. The stones had dropped out of their ring settings, their glue probably weakened in the steamy baths. They were simply flushed into the drains when the pools and saunas were cleaned.
