Yeah, I've been watching that boglim for a good 6 years or so now. What a wild ride.

If you continue to have trouble but still want a Debian experience, might I recommend MX Linux. I cut my teeth on that for a long time, and it was a really great experience for me. And the installer is super easy to navigate.

I wholeheartedly disagree. But I will say that maybe a mid-weight flavor of Debian would be better.

When I read CASPER, Wyo. I almost half expected that King Cobra JFS got busted.

I drove through Casper once. Its was the butthole of America.

Can I say what I want?
  • wesker wesker 7h ago 100%

I'm not a mod, but this community is for content creation. So I assume if you're contributing something that you in your heart of hearts feel is "content" that deserves consumption, virtually anything goes.

And I can say with pretty strong confidence, that the top posters here post content with varying political and social commentary, that isn't necessarily mainstream.

    1
  • That you feel comfortable sharing/compiling, what are your various identities or roles in your life?
  • wesker wesker 7h ago 100%

    That's difficult to answer.

On one hand, I do believe that when you are online in a nonprofessional capacity, you should be using a pseudonym. One of the many negative influences social networking has had on the netsphere, is now people just broadcast everything under their actual identity. I think that's such a huge mistake, from an opsec standpoint and beyond.

That being said, I partake in a lot of activities under online pseudonym that personal me identifies with and enjoys. I suppose I don't need those accomplishments associated with day-to-day me to feel satisfied.

However, I also like to sew little bits of falsehood into my online presence, for both shits and giggles as well as creating more of a proxy between identities.

So, I digress... difficult to answer.

    • Online
    • Professional
    • Personal

There's large overlap with all three, with online being more of a caricature, and professional being more reserved. Personal is the baseline.

I mean, very clearly it's fake. The badge in the lower right of the label -- which is usually the Nintendo seal of quality -- even actually says "fake" if you zoom in. Plus, a prototype wouldn't have an ESRB rating, nor a quality seal.

There's no mpv community to share this to, so I figured the next best place was here. I wrote a script that does two things: * Saves the watch_later file for the currently playing file every X seconds, if the file is not currently paused. * Saves a "watched" dummy file when the currently playing file exceeds a certain percentage of watch time. Normally mpv saves the watch_later file for the currently playing file only if you gracefully quit. This isn't reliable enough for my tastes, so this timer makes better sure my last position is saved. The second addition is purely for the benefit of additional scripting, inside or outside of mpv. The mpv-created watch_later files are intended to be impermanent, and I believe depending on settings are automatically removed once a file is played to 100%. I personally still want to keep track that I watched a specific video, even when the watch_later file is reset. It probably goes without saying, but this script has only been tested in Linux.

Ben Heck makes a lot of *things*. One thing he's been making for years, is special ordered one-handed gaming controllers. Here he is making one for the Switch. If you love modding and electronics, I recommend his channel and live streams in general.
