Still miss foobar which isn't on Linux, though deadbeef is fairly similar at least. Never got the hang of all the beautiful themes/skins users put together for foobar but it was still my go to music player. Excellent layout customisation, tagging and conversion UI, as well as as nice range of plugins

At least you can have separate pages for artists with the same name on streaming services, it's been a nightmare on last.fm since it's/audioscrobbler's inception. I know, I know, what year is it?!

I actually saw plenty of people dressed up as bears today, the Chicago Bears happened to be playing in London at the same time but I pass that off as pure coincidence

I cancelled my 2TB sub and moved to MEGA because the CASA requirements meant CDisplayEx (comic reader) also had to drop Google Drive integration. Good timing as I was deGoogling over other areas like email, browser, etc

Good innings, Maggie, fly high. 🫡 Think I first saw her in Hook as a child

Couldn't agree more, though I would say it also distracts from the need to highly regulate capitalism at large, i.e. encourage reinvestment in employees (pay at least in line with inflation, training, etc) over shareholder dividends or CEO bonuses
This is relevant so not just those at the very top (irrespective of generation) will benefit from economic growth

Well that sucks, ironically I connected my C2 to the net for the NFL gamepass sub I'm actually paying for. Guess it's back to illegal streams on the desktop PC

It's actually run by the Gwar/G'n'R mashup tribute band from Castle Cay called G'w'R, understandable confusion

At once a pleasant surprise and ageingly (new word buzzer?) terrifying
Edit: in a stellar bit of irony, I mispelt the new word incorrectly, unless you're based in "freedom land"
Any tips the best way(s) to watch the upcoming season? I'm also contemplating paying for DAZN (based in the UK)... with a temporary card that I can cancel given all the negative Trustpilot reviews

Heard a lot about that over in the US, no surprise crappy Ticketmaster brought it over here. Already on my avoid list as they block VPNs, kinda "you can't fire me, I quit!" vibes but I don't regret it

I finally caught Hawtin live last year (at Sonar of all things) and finally got why he's so respected despite wobbles here and there. Will check out that record this weekend, cheers!
Just a small attempt to get more, or indeed any activity going here. I'm also genuinely curious, what have folks been listening to lately? If there's enough interest I could make this a monthly post. For myself, a few below: Irini - s/t: has probably become my fave Traumprinz/DJ Metatron album which says something, not just techno/trance/ambient but other styles like breaks/dnb scattered about Air Liquide - Abuse Your Illusions: kicking myself that it took so long to get into them, still discovering a lot! Sandwell District - Feed Forward: stone cold classic that fits most moods personally, RIP Juan

Definitely Manchester, having gone there for uni I know the city well and still love visiting now and then
I recently installed Pop on another device, everything is fine except for Pop Shop which seems to be missing apps that I already have installed through there on my main desktop. I checked that I hadn't accidentally deleted/messed with the sources and they all look fine. These are common apps like Librewolf, Joplin and Standard Notes. I know they can be installed through other methods like apt or appimage but am curious as to the possible reasons behind the discrepancy. What's more confusing is that I had a few attempts installing Pop (as recently as 10hrs ago) on this newer device and they appeared then!
Given (I believe) there's no mechanism for locals to get cheaper tickets, does anyone have any tips for grabbing cheaper day tickets? Wouldn't mind catching a fair few acts on Friday and Sunday, just not for £200+!
This is in addition to the RMT strikes on 20th, 22nd and 29th July.
